- The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center, intends to award a brand-name mandatory purchase order for Plasmon Optical Storage Devices for its Registry Data Center. This procurement is considered to be a brand-name mandatory purchase based on the standardization requirements with existing optical storage equipment. Purpose of Announcement: In accordance with the FAA Acquisition Management System (AMS) Policy 3.2.2.4 and 3.2.1.3.12 and AMS Procurement Guidance T3.2.2.8.A.5, the purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the basis of the FAA's decision to contract via brand-name mandatory purchase order procedures.
