Description
NAICS Code: 334516 The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) intends to negotiate a sole source purchase order under Simplified Acquisition Procedures to Applera Corporation, DBA Applied Biosystems Group, Applied Biosystems Division, 850 Lincoln Centre Drive, Foster City, CA 94404,for the acquisition of Human Custom Array(P/N: 4342253) and Rat Custom Array(P/N: 4342253). EPA laboratory needs the ability to perform high-throughput gene expression easily and accurately. Because the cards have been used in prior research, it is important to the research that the same assays be used. The cards utilize a streamline process in which set-up is simple and pipetting is at a minimum. The cards utilize Real Time analysis for high throughput and sensitive analysis of gene expression. The customs arrays are being use in ongoing research and therefore in order to ensure data compatibility and accuracy the circumstance permitting is FAR 13.106(B) "only one source reasonably available". The intent of this notice is to determine if any other source(s) exist, and therefore, no solicitation (RFQ) is available. Consequently, any response failing to demonstrate contractor's ability to provide maintenance of the instrument and instead choosing to merely submit a routine letter requesting a copy of the RFQ will be ignored. The information received in response to this notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement.
