- The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD), China Lake, CA anticipates issuing a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contract for the production of Cast Ductile Iron (CDI) BDU-61 1,000-pound practice bomb bodies.This contract effort requires the development, analysis, manufacture, testing, inspection and preparation of technical data for the production of CDI BDU-61 1,000-pound practice bomb bodies. This acquisition is being conducted under FAR 15 Contracting by Negotiation. This acquisition is for the purchase of Contract Line Item Number (CLIN) 0001 - one (1 lot) Modeling and Design/Data Analysis; CLIN 0002 - two (2 each) First Article of CDI Bomb Bodies; CLIN 0003 - forty (40 each) Qual Unit of CDI Bomb Bodies. The CDI BDU-61 1,000-pound practice bomb bodies will be used in place of the BLU-110 1,000 pound general purpose bomb for non-energetic practice bombing missions to support the Air Force. The CDI BDU-61 will be a direct replacement for the standard steel BDU-61. Applicable specifications and drawings will be provided in the solicitation. The solicitation or Request for Proposal (RFP) will be posted on the Navy Electronic Commerce Online website at http://www.neco.navy.mil and the FEDBIZOPPS website at http://www.fbo.gov/.on or about 06 October 2008. All responsible sources may submit a proposal, which shall be considered by the agency. The response shall be submitted in writing to Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, Code 210000D Attn: Helen Xiong, 429 E. Bowen Road, STOP 4015, China Lake, CA 93555-6108. All responsible sources must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database at the following website: https://www.ccr.dlis.dla.mil/ccr/scripts/index.html. Award is scheduled to occur on or about 05 January 2009. The offeror selected for award will be that offeror determined to be most advantageous to the Government based on Best Value evaluation. The evaluation criteria will be provided in Section M of the solicitation.
