- DESC: The United States Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command-Warren (TACOM-Warren) will be issuing a sole source Letter Request for Proposal (RFP) in order to add new effort to Contract W56HZV-07-C-0031 with GS Engineering Inc. The contract is for systems engineering tasks necessary to continue and conclude the Full Spectrum Active Protection Close-in Layered Shield (FCLAS) program. The current tasks include program planning, test planning and analysis, functional analysis and allocation and meeting facilitation. For this new effort, ballistic testing and analysis for the Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) directed armor recipes, Future Combat Systems (FCS) directed armor recipe to include Layered Glass Solutions, Glass-Ceramics and transparent metallic armor solutions and combinations of the above, will be performed. This will remain a Cost-Plus-Fixed-Fee (CPFF) contract with GS Engineering Inc., Houghton, Michigan. The period of performance for this effort will remain unchanged with the period of performance ending 15 Nov 09. The total estimated dollar value of this effort is $155,000.00. This requirement will be solicited by Letter RFP W56HZV-08-R-0972. Contractors will be required to submit their response by email to janet.joudas@us.army.mil. The subject line of the email submissions must read offer-W56HZV-08-R-0972, closes 03 Nov 08 at 3:00 P.M. local time. Maximum size of email offers shall not exceed 3.5 Megabytes. Compressed files must be self-extracting and have appropriate instructions to open. Hard copy responses will not be accepted. Please make sure this agency has been furnished the following additional information: Cage, Company Name, Duns Number and the email address where you would like the notice sent. The estimated release date of the Letter RFP W56HZV-08-R-0972 is 02 Oct 08 and the estimated closing date for receipt of proposals is 03 Nov 08.
