Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. To request a copy of the applicable drawing, please contact the Contract Specialist listed below. Contractor shall provide 40 each Kynar Mesh Panels per following specifications SPECIFICATIONS: GENERAL The STS panels shall be of a 5.8 mesh construction woven entirely from 0.039 inch diameter monofilament. The monofilament, which shall be a PolyVinyliDene Fluoride (Kynar PVDF) family of fibers, must be clear in appearance, and not be pigmented white in color, and is to be free from TIO2 (titanium dioxide) the monofilament must be produced with an additive to prevent any occurrences of metal activated degradation. The monofilament also must possess the characteristics of high molecular weight along with generally superior abrasion, hydrolysis and chemical resistance. The STS panels shall be sized at 7 feet 10-3/4 inches wd. X 11 feet 2 inches lg. (+or 1/8 inch) The finished STS panels shall have distinct crimp of equal size in both the warp and fill directions and the fabric must be flat, free from pucker or blister. The monofilaments shall be free from abrasion or other damage. The panels shall not have selvage edges. All strands shall run the full length and full width of the panel without splicing. A 12-inch square sample complete with edging shall be submitted for testing and approval after fabric weaving but prior to delivery. STRENGTH Each monofilament shall have a minimum tensile strength of 80 pounds and minimum elongation at break of 30 percent. The material shall be suitable for use in cold water and shall be heat set at a minimum of 360 degrees Fahrenheit so that it will be dimensionally stable when subject to temperatures of 200 degrees Fahrenheit. It shall also be heat set at an adequate tension to provide dimensional stability at ambient temperatures. SCREEN EDGE PROTECTION The entire edged perimeter of the STS panels shall be protected with flexible epoxy or another approved equal material. The protective edging shall have a useable temperature range of 10 to + 200 degrees Fahrenheit. The selected edging shall be completely bonded through the mesh to offer equal protection on both sides of the STS panel. The perimeter of the protective edging must not be subject to peeling, flaking, delimitation or separation by any means. All items shall be delivered FOB DESTINATION to Lower Monumental Dam within 2 weeks of contract award. The contractor shall be responsible for packing and shipping the components in a manner that will ensure undamaged and complete arrival to Lower Monumental Dam. No shipments are allowed other than normal business hours of Monday-Thursday 6:30AM-5PM, excluding holidays. Note: In order to be considered for award, the Contractor shall submit sufficient descriptive literature such as illustrations, drawings, or specifications to demonstrate the equipment being proposed meets the requirements of this specification.
