Description
The government intends to acquire on a sole source basis a quantity of 85 submachine guns from Heckler and Koch Defense, INC model Heckler and Koch UMP.40 caliber with Unique Identification Data (UID) and Radio Frequency identification (RFID). This acquisition is intended to supplement the governments existing substantial inventory of this weapon. Compatibility with existing stock is essential. This proposed contract action is for supplies and/or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all proposals received by the closing date and time will be considered. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any vendors who believe they can provide the equipment (.40 caliber submachine gun) and can provide proof of ability to meet the requirements should email or fax their company’s capabilities information to the attention of Lardner Moore, Jr. by 12:00 p.m. noon EST, September 19, 2008.
