- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for Brand Name commercial items in accordance with FAR 6.302-1(c), Application for Brand Name descriptions, and the format in FAR Subpart 12.6 Streamlined Procedures for Evaluation and Solicitation for Commercial Items. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; a fixed price quotation is requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is NAMA-08-Q-0146 and is issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-26 effective June 12, 2008. This is a Brand Name,100% small business set-aside requirement under NAICS 334112 with a size standard of 1,000 employees. BACKGROUND: The NWCD has a well established office devoted to making high quality digital copies of NARA holdings. As the lab expands its capabilities to ensure NARA keeps pace with increasing internal and public demands, new equipment and computers are needed. The workflow and training in the lab has been standardized on the Macintosh operating system. Any re-configuration to incorporate new, non-compatible systems would seriously disrupt existing processes in order to allow for system integration with existing components and software as well as new training for staff. A hybrid process wherein NARA utilizes more than one type of computer is counter intuitive as it would create inefficiencies as opposed to generating any improvements. As such the only real solution would be a complete replacement and this option is cost prohibitive from both time (such a transition would shut down the lab) and fiscal perspectives. Therefore, only Macintosh computers are requested. The Government will not be responsible for any costs incurred in responding to this notice. REQUIREMENTS: This is a Brand Name, firm-fixed price RFQ and all delivery costs should be included in total estimated value. CLINS: 0001 – MAC Pro w/2.8GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon (8 core); 2GB; 500GB 7200-rpm serial ATA 3Gb/s (Bay 1); 500GB 7200-rpm Serial ATA 3Gb/s (Bay 2); NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT 512MB (2 dual-link DVI); one 16x Superdrive; Apple wireless Mighty Mouse; Apple Wireless keyboard(English)+MAC OS X; 3Ea. 0002 – Aperture 2.0 (MB284Z/A) – Pre-Installed---NARA requires the aperture to come pre-installed on each of the PCs above; 3 Ea. 0003 – Protection Plan; 3 Ea. 0004 – Apple Cinema HD Display, 23 inch; 1 Ea. 0005 – Adobe Creative Suite Premium Upgrade; 2 Ea. 0006 – Adobe Creative Suite Standard; 1 Ea. 0007 – Quark Express Full; 1 Ea. 0008 – Quark Express Upgrade; 2 Ea. DELIVERY: Packaging must be in a manner that prevents damage to the equipment during shipment. Delivery must be undertaken during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, unless mutually agreed upon by NARA and the Contractor. Delivery will be made to the following location: NARA - AII; 3301 METZEROTT RD, COLLEGE PARK, MARYLAND 20740-6001 no later than 30 calendar days after award of order.
