- The Army Contracting Agency, Directorate of Contracting, Fort Hood, TX, intends to award a sole source contract to Dell Marketing L.P., One Dell Way, Round Rock, TX, under a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, Only one Responsible Source and no Other Supplies or Services will Satisfy Agency Requirement, 10 U.S.C.2304 (1). Dell is the only known distributor of these products the Gold Technical Support for Dell Client Systems offered by Dell, for a period of two years, on 330 each, existing Dell Laptops Precision M20. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation document exists. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are not being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued (oral offers will not be accepted). Any firm that believes it can provide the stated extended warranty within the established timeframe is invited to submit written notification to the Contracting Specialist within the timeframe stated below. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the firm's ability to provide the stated supplies within the established timeframe. Information can be sent to the Contract Specialist via e-mail at: madge.lewis@us.army.mil. Responses received from other responsible businesses prior to 1600 Central Standard Time on 16 September 2008 will be evaluated. No telephone responses will be accepted. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, Directorate of Contracting will proceed with the sole source contract.
