Description
This synopsis is notification of the intent to extend the current Hazardous Material Control Center (HMCC) service contract No. W9124G-07-C-0002. This five-month contract extension will provide for the continuation of non-personal services to perform the operation of a hazardous material control center (HMCC), which include: purchasing, receiving, accepting, storing, and issuing supply items. The period of performance will be extended from 30 September 2008 to 28 February 2009. This will allow sufficient time to issue a solicitation and make award for performance to begin 1 March 2009. The incumbent contractor is the only logical source to continue to perform this effort during this five month interim period. The contract type is a firm-fixed price contract. The extension will provide uninterrupted services to the Fort Rucker installation pending award of a new, competitively awarded contract. This action is accomplished under the authority cited 10 U.S.C.(c)(1) in accordance with Far 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and no other Supplies or Services will satisfy Agency Requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals and is posted for 15 days. Any responses to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition of this extension period would be advantageous to the Government. If no affirmative written response is received, the contract will be extended without further notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this contract extension period based on this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Written comments to this notice and detailed capabilities must be faxed to (334) 255-1231, ATTN: M. Faire, no later than 27 September 2008.
