Description
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) intends to include open market items on a General Services Administration Federal Acquisition Services award to The Graduate School, USDA for Travel and Training Space Logistics for the FDA’s Professional Development Program in Food Science. The Open Market items include lodging for Summer/Fall, Summer program materials for Teachers Train-The-Teacher Sessions, Summer program catering, CD duplication, plaques/bags/ notebooks, Art design fees, Exhibit Space for American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (AAFCS), Exhibit fees/shipping/handling for 10 conferences (8) National Science Teacher Association (NSTA) and (2) (AAFCS), FDA-NSTA Symposium stipends, Teacher/exhibitor per diem, FedEx, Dec & July travel for teachers, Exhibitor Travel, Summer – bus. These items complete The Graduate School, USDA’s overall solution to the FDA’s requirement for Education, Training, and Professional Development, Courses and Consultation Services for Developing Implementing and Managing Education-Related Programs. The procurement for the overall Education Training requirement has closed. Acquiring the Services for the Travel and Training Space Logistics from one source will provide a single point of contact to provide on going travel, space, and material support for the program, which requires around-the-calendar attention to cover the various stages of this program. The period of performance for this contract is from the date of award through September 16, 2010. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR Part 13.501(a) and no other solution will satisfy agency requirements. The NAICS Code is 611430 and the Dollar Standard is $6.5 million. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations and no solicitation document is available. However, any firm that believes it can meet these requirements may give notification to the Contracting Office by 2:00 pm local eastern time on September 17, 2008. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirement, information can be emailed to the Contracting Officer, U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Attn: Patricia Pemberton at the email below. Responses received will be reviewed; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the FDA will proceed with the sole source award to The Graduate School, USDA, 600 Maryland Avenue, SW, Washington, DC 20024-2520. The anticipated award date of this contract is on or around September 19, 2008. No collect calls will be accepted.
