The Contractor will be responsible for conducting interactive meetings with DEA to review the DEA operational environment, document criticality, readiness, requirements, and risks for each infrastructure component (workstations, servers, communication links, etc). The objective to be accomplished through the conducting of the interactive meetings is to allow DEA and the Contractor to understand the environmental status and considerations for optimization, rollout, and expansion of the Citrix XenApp (formally Citrix Presentation Server) infrastructure to be used during the consolidation of DEA Offices located within Central America and South America. A review of the current DEA environment including verifying the “Citrix Presentation Server Analysis, Design and Build Project” documentation will enable DEA to minimize project risk and better leverage existing skill sets and tools to be sued to support of the XenApp-Citrix Presentation Server environment. The contractor will be responsible for developing an Application Virtualization Assessment Document that will include but not be limited to the following key sections: Users and Devices Users: The Users section reviews the profile and activities of the users within the environment, including user patterns, authentication, and common issues from the user standpoint. Client Devices: The Client Devices section reviews the various endpoint devices used to access the enterprise applications. Within this section, areas such as the client operating systems, new client devices, and installation of Citrix clients are discussed. Applications Application Characteristics: The Application Characteristics section reviews characteristics of the applications that will be accessed by users. Various facets of the applications properties are discussed in order to gain a deep understanding of the resources required by users. Application Testing and Installation: The Application Testing and Installation section reviews the processes associated with testing applications for functionality and interoperability, as well as installation. Items discussed include the processes used by the IT staff, installation mechanism, and application packaging/profiling. Application Presentation Application Access: The Application Access section reviews the infrastructure mechanisms that are in place in order to provide users with access to applications. These include components such as Web Interface and remote access. Presentation Server Server Farm: The Presentation Server Server Farm section reviews information such as server farm configuration, feature release/service pack level, Citrix policies, Zone Data Collector, Load Manager, and additional features. In addition, printing is explored as related to type, drivers, and volumes. Platinum Components: The Platinum Components section reviews information related to additional elements of the Platinum edition of Presentation Server Server, including SmartAuditor, Password Manager, EdgeSight for Presentation Server, and EasyCall. Infrastructure Citrix Licensing and Administrative Consoles: The Citrix Licensing and Administrative Consoles section reviews information regarding Citrix licensing, as well as the location of the various administrative consoles, including the Access Management Console, Presentation Server Console, and Licensing Console. Databases: The Databases section reviews the various databases that are used for the Data Store, Resource Manager, Configuration Logging, EdgeSight, Password Manager, and SmartAuditor. In addition, database administration and application back-end databases are discussed. Windows Server and Active Directory:The Windows Server and Active Directory section reviews information such operating system configuration, Terminal Services licensing, server build process, Active Directory structure, Group Policy Objects, logon script(s), user profiles, and user file storage. Network Architecture: The Network Architecture section reviews information such as name resolution, segmentation, TCP ports, NIC/switch configuration, and WANs. Enterprise Storage: The Enterprise Storage section reviews the storage technologies used to store user data and Terminal Services profiles. Server Hardware: The Server Hardware section reviews information such as vendor/model, processors, memory, disk drives, RAID controller, and hardware management software. Operations Systems Monitoring and Management: The Systems Monitoring and Management section reviews information related to the tools used to administratively understand the health of the Citrix-related servers, including Resource Manager, EdgeSight, and Health Monitoring. Testing and Change Control: The Testing and Change Control section reviews information such as the laboratory environment and test processes, as well as tools, documentation requirements, approval processes, and implementation procedures. Support: The Support section reviews information such as administrative permissions, service level agreements (SLAs), support tiers, technical support contracts, and incident tracking. Security: The Security section reviews information such as administrative access, application and server security, network security, remote access security, and anti-virus software. Disaster Recovery: The Disaster Recovery section reviews information such as number and location of the physical data centers, as well as the business continuity plans and resources available as it relates to the Citrix-related components. In addition, the backup/restoration process as related to the Data Store and other databases, as well as user data, is discussed.
