- THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT. THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS ONLY. THE PURPOSE OF THIS SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS IS TO GAIN KNOWLEDGE OF POTENTIAL QUALIFIED SOURCES AND THEIR SIZE CLASSIFICATIONS (8(a), HUBZONE, SMALL, SMALL DISADVANTAGED, SMALL VETERAN OWNED, SERVICE-DISABLED VETERAN OWNED, SMALL WOMAN OWNED AND LARGE BUSINESS) RELATIVE TO NAICS CODE 541380 (SIZE STANDARD $12.0 M). RESPONSES TO THIS SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS WILL BE USED BY THE GOVERNMENT TO MAKE APPROPRIATE ACQUISTION DECISIONS-SEE SUBMITTAL REQUIREMENTS BELOW. AFTER REVIEW OF THE RESPONSES TO THIS SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT, A SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT WILL BE PUBLISHED IN www.FedBizOpps.gov. RESPONSES TO THIS SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ARE NOT ADEQUATE RESPONSE TO THE SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT. ALL INTERESTED OFFERORS WILL HAVE TO RESPOND TO THE SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT IN ADDITION TO RESPONDING TO THIS SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT. The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network 22 Logistics Office, is seeking sources for a potential contract to provide all necessary labor, equipment, and supervision to provide inspection and certification on Government-Owned Fume Hoods and/or Ventilation Devices, Biological Safety Cabinets, Laminar Flow Devices, Isolators, BioSafety Hazard Hoods, Sterile Work Benches and/or and Radiation Safety Hoods for Veteran Affairs Healthcare Systems at Los Angeles, Loma Linda, and Long Beach, California. The Contractor shall be licensed, permitted, NFS certified and in compliance with the State of California in providing maintenance of all Bio-Hoods in these facilities. The intended contract shall provide services for all locations on an all or none basis. The Government shall have the option to extend the contract in one-year increments for a base and four option years. Responses to this notice should include company name, address, point of contact, email address, phone and fax numbers, size of business pursuant to North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) and must respond to the following questions: (1) Is your business a large or small business? (2) If small, does your firm qualify as a small, emergency business, or a small, disadvantaged business? (3) If disadvantaged, specify under which disadvantaged group and is your firm certified under Section 8(a) of the Small Business Act? (4) Is your firm a certified "hub zone" firm? (5) Is your firm a woman-owned or operated business? (6) Is your firm a certified Service-Disabled Veteran Owned and Veteran-Owned? This is not a request for proposals and in no way obligates the Government to award any contract. Responses to this notice shall be mailed to the attention of Larry Facey, Contracting Officer, Department of Veterans Affairs, Network 22 Logistics Office, 5901 East Seventh Street, Bldg. 149, Long Beach, CA 90822-5201. Replays may also be emailed to larry.facey@va.gov or faxed to (562) 961-1367. Responses must be received no later than 2:00 p.m. on September 26, 2008. Firms responding to this announcement which fail to provide all of the required information cannot be used to help the Government make the acquisition decisions which is the intent of this synopsis. This notice is to help the VA Logistics Office in determining potential sources only. No solicitation is currently available. All firms responding to this sources sought notice are advised that their response to this notice is not a request to be considered for a contract award. If a solicitation is issued, it will be announced later in the FedBizOpps and all interested parties must respond to that solicitation announcement separately from the responses to this announcement. Responses to this sources sought synopsis is NOT a request to be added to a prospective bidders list or to receive a copy of the solicitation.
