- Description
- The Uniformed Services University of the Health and Sciences (USUHS), intends to negotiate on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(2)(b)(1), with United Security & Communication, Inc., Huntingtown, MD for installation of all camera equipment, interface all security devices with existing security system, program all security devices and ensure all equipment is working within standards. These items are being procured as a commercial item in accordance with the procedures in FAR Pt. 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, and FAR 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The basis for the sole source is hardware and software that is purchased from, or installed by a third party, that interfaces with the equipment covered under United Security & Communications, Inc's. agreement with USUHS will nullify the terms of the agreement. Also, unauthorized repairs, adjustments and or interfacing by any other entity or contractor will also void the terms of the current security maintenance agreement. The United Security warranty and insurance also does not include third parties working on the equipment covered under the agreement with USUHS. This is not a request for quote; however, all interested parties may contact the Contracting Officer. Sources interested in responding to this requirement must be able to provide convincing evidence that they can obtain/provide the same preventative maintenance services as state above. Responses must be in writing and must be received in the office by September 16, 2008.
