The Seattle District is soliciting proposals to provide labor necessary to operate and maintain the Seattle District library, at the Federal Center South, 4735 East Marginal Way South, Seattle, WA. Services will be provided to a staff of approximately 500 staff that are co-located in the same building, and approximately 400 staff located remotely at various projects within the military and civil boundaries of the District (Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Oregon) and to the public requesting information relating to Seattle District produced materials (key examples of the public might be other Corps offices, other governmental agencies, tribal counsels, special interest organizations or interested firms or individuals). Services will include maintaining the existing facility for use by District staff; providing a focus for access to electronic information, including identifying what information we need to provide others through electronic access, maintaining existing resources including cataloging, filing and updating those resources; coordinating the acquisition and delivery of requested resources; assisting in finding and using library resources such as online searches and interlibrary loans; and maintaining the District's video collection. The contract will be awarded to a Small Business Concern with a base period of 1 October 2008 through 30 September 2009 plus two (2) one year options. Issue of this solicitation will be in electronic format only. No disks or hard copy will be available. Follow the registration procedures at this site to receive notification of solicitation/amendment posting. Pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), the solicitation, including plans and specs will be available for download no earlier than 10 days following the posting of this synopsis. Note that all dates are approximate. The proposal due date will be noted on the solicitation at the time of issue. There is no technical information available until the issue of the solicitation via the Internet. To be eligible for contract award a firm must be registered in the DoD Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database. Register via the CCR Internet site at http://www.ccr.gov or by contacting the DoD Electronic Commerce Information Center at 1-888-227-2423. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 561990 with a business size standard of 6.5MIL or less. This requirement is 100% set aside for small business. For the purposes of this procurement, a concern is considered a small business 6.5 MIL or less.
