- Description
- The USDA Agricultural Research Service intends to negotiate solely with Roche Nimblegen, 500 S. Rosa Road, Madison, WI under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 to obtain whole genome mutation mapping by microarray using the Flavobacterium psychrophilum CSF-259-93 genome sequence as a template. Requirement includes a total of eight strains (including the reference strain) that must be hybridized to 385,000 feature microarrays covering the whole bacterial genome sequence followed by SNP resequencing by whole genome microarray (48,000 base pairs). Mutation mapping data, annotated SNPs, sequences of mutated genes, and SignalMap data browser must be provided for each strain. Roche Nimblegen is the sole provider of comparative genome sequencing by microarray that meets this requirement. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based on response to this notice is solely at the discretion of the Government in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) based on only one vendor capable of provided the requested services. Interested parties with demonstrated capability and financial capacity to provide such services must submit a written substantive statement outlining capabilities and qualifications to perform this effort to the identified point of contact by 3:00 p.m. on September 16, 2008. This notice is not a request for competitive quotes. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract will be based on responses to this notice and is solely at the discretion of the Government.
