Description
The 96th Contracting Squadron, Eglin AFB, Florida intends to award a Firm-Fixed Price (FFP), contract for the purchase of a Hot-Melt Processor System. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in subpart 13.5, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The announcement number is F1TBBB8203A001. This solicitation is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ). The North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 333220, with a small business size standard of 500 employees. Please identify/confirm your business size in your response based upon this standard. This purchase request shall meet the following requirements: The desired machine is generally called a hot-melt processor. This machine's function is to melt plastic pellets and precisely pump the molten material into an extruder (which we already own). For our particular application, two different materials must be melted and pumped by the same unit simultaneously. Additionally, data acquisition and maintenance requirements at our facility put specific restrictions on the type of control system employed. With these needs in mind, the salient characteristics of a suitable machine are: • Two separate, independent melt chambers and gear pumps • Each hopper capacity greater than 10 lbs • Each melt reservoir capacity greater than 4 lbs • Each melt chamber has temperature zoning capability up to 230 ºC • Each pump capable of delivering 25 lbs per hour • All material contact surfaces non-stick coated • Units on single welded frame with casters, weighing less than 750 lbs • Wired for 460 volt, 3 phase, 60 Hz power input • Uses only Allen Bradley frequency drives • Uses Allen Bradley Compact Logix Programmable Logic Controller with open source code • Input / Output module uses 24 volt signals • Uses an Allen Bradley Panelview Plus Human Machine Interface • Pair of ten foot, medium pressure heated hose with temperature sensor and 0.312" inner diameter • Includes pair of pressure transducers to detect pump failure / dead heading during operation • Machine test run at vendor's facility • Machine delivered fully assembled • Spare parts kit included No contract financing will be provided in accordance with FAR 32.003 & 32.201-1(b)(2).
