- Description
- The purpose of this synopsis is to notify interested parties that the USTRANSCOM Acquisition Directorate anticipates issuance of a solicitation to provide rotary wing transportation services for CENTCOM; the current requirements are for Iraq and Afghanistan. A mixture of medium and heavy lift rotary wing aircraft will be needed to fulfill airlift requirements. Estimated quantity is for a total of 22 helicopters. The period of performance will be a base year plus 4 option periods. Offeror must be a FAA 135 certified aircraft carrier, be eligible to be DoD Approved and be able to transport both passengers and/or cargo (to include sling load). A DRAFT Request for Proposal (RFP) will be available on Federal Business Opportunities on or about 19 September 2008. USTRANSCOM/Acquisition Directorate will host a Pre-Solicitation Briefing for the upcoming solicitation (HTC711-08-R-0020). The briefing will be held at Scott AFB, Illinois on 25 September 2008 from 8:30 am to 11:00 am CST in the Halverson Conference Room, Bldg 1961. Carriers will be limited to no more than 2 representatives, as space is limited. Carriers must identify their intention to attend the Pre-Solicitation Briefing no later than 23 September 2008 to ensure adequate seating capacity and base access. The government reserves the right to limit participation to one carrier representative if necessary. Questions submitted will be addressed first, however, if time permits, additional questions may be addressed at the briefing. There will also be an opportunity to submit questions after the briefing. Following the Pre-Solicitation Briefing, Individual Carrier Meetings will be available starting at 12:00 pm CST, in 30 minute intervals.
