- This announcement is a notice of intent to award a sole source contract in accordance with FAR 6.302-1. The Government has a requirement for a Jeol Jem 1400 neutron microscope. The items will be acquired from Jeol because they hold the proprietary rights to the software which reside in the Neutron microscope. This notice of intent is not considered a Request for Quotation (RFQ) nor is it a Request for Proposals (RFP). It is the belief of the Government that Jeol is the only qualified source to meet our needs. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. Additionally, any response to this notice must show clear, compelling and convincing evidence that competition will be advantageous to the government. All information received by the POC by 4:00 pm HST., Tuesday, September 12, 2008, will be considered by the government. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
