- The Office of the Federal Detention Trustee (OFDT) in support of the United States Marshals Service (USMS), is conducting a Sources Sought synopsis for information purposes only. This is not a solicitation announcement. Currently, no solicitation is available. This request for information does not commit the Government to pay any cost incurred in preparation of any submission to this Sources Sought Notice. The purpose of this request for information is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources. Responses to this sources sought synopsis will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. After review of the responses to this sources sought synopsis, and if the Government still plans to proceed with the acquisition, a solicitation announcement will be publicized in FedBizOpps. All interested offerors will be required to respond to the solicitation announcement in addition to responding to this sources sought synopsis. It is the potential offeror’s responsibility to monitor this site for the release of any solicitation or synopsis. The objective of this potential contract is to provide qualified armed guards for the District of Vermont. The contractor shall perform services within the Statement of work within the State of Vermont or Contiguous States. OFDT is in search of a contractor to provide guard services for an estimated 4,320 hours during the base contract period. The contractor shall furnish necessary security personnel to provide for the protection and safekeeping of persons held under the authority of any United States status including the detention of persons who are non-resident or non-citizen of the United States; guard federal prisoners confined to a medical facility for treatment; transport/escort federal prisoners to and from local medical facilities and physician’s offices; transport and escort federal prisoners between federal, non federal detention facilities and the federal courthouse; transport/escort federal prisoners between detention facilities and the Justice Prisoner Alien transportation system (JPATS); provide guard services within Federal courthouses, federal buildings and USMS cellblock areas; provide security for USMS seized property. The areas of service include the states of Vermont, New Hampshire, New York and Massachusetts, correctional facilities, court, hospitals and medical facilities. This synopsis is for information and planning purposes only. It is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government nor will the Government pay for any information solicited. If interested, please submit your companies’ capabilities statement to include the following: (1) Name and address of firm; (2) Size of business; (3) Average annual revenue for past three years; (4) Number of employees; (5) Ownership of firm; (6) Business size (large, small, disadvantage); (7) Number of years in business; (8) Affiliate information (parent company, joint venture partners, potential teaming partners, prime contractor if potential sub, subcontractors if potential prime; and (9) List of customers cover past five years (highlight relevant work performed, contract numbers, contract type, dollar value of each procurement, point of contact with address and phone number). All responses shall be submitted to Deborah M. Johnson no later than September 10, 2008.
