- Description
- The Portland (Oregon) U.S. Veterans Administration Medical Center (PVACM) is seeking one part-time contract physician to provide Hematology Medical Oncologist services for treatment of patients at outpatient clinics. Services shall be performed under the clinical oversight of the Director of the PVAMC Hospital and Specialty Care Division. Clinics are typically provided two times per week. Clinic begins at 9:00 and continues until all scheduled patients have been seen or reviewed with the VA staff. The workload for the Oncologist in 2008 includes staffing approximately 180 outpatients seen in the Heme/Onc Fellows clinic and 20 Palliative Care patients seen in the Heme/Onc Nurse Practitioner clinic. The workload in 2009 is anticipated to be approximately the same. Education and supervision of graduate medical trainees from the affiliated medical school is required. The anticipated start date of this contract is October 1, 2008. The contract will be for an initial period of one year, ending September 30, 2009. Multiple extension options are provided through fiscal year 2013. This solicitation will result in a Firm-Fixed Price, non-personal services healthcare contract. Only one award will be made.
