- Synopsis:The Veterans Health Administration located in Altoona, PA intends to issue an invitation For Bid (IFB) to award a single, firm fixed-price contract for services, non-personal, to provide all plant, labor, transportation, materials, tools, equipment, and supervision necessary to complete Project 503-01-109, FCA Replace Steam Traps, at the VA Medical Center, Altoona, PA 16602 in accordance with the specifications and drawings. Work is to be completed within 365 calendar days from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed. Specifications and Drawings for submitting a bid will be available at http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. All respondents must be registered in the CCR database, see http://www.ccr.gov and complete the online Reps and Certs at http://orca.bpn.gov, along with Vets 100 at http://vets.dol.gov/vets100/. Bidders must be registered in vetbiz at http://www.vetbiz.gov/. Amendments to the solicitation will be posted at this website. All parties must obtain amendments to the solicitation through the web site. Hard copies will not be mailed. Interested parties must go to the web site to be entered on the Bidders Mailing List and to obtain copies of the Bidders Mailing List. All questions must be submitted in writing (no e-mails) to the issuing office (fax 814-942-9253). Issue Date will be on or about September 18, 2008. A pre-bid conference will be conducted on September 25, 2008 and October 2, 2008 at 1:00 P.M., in Bldg. #20, Room # 123 at the VA Medical Center, 2907 Pleasant Valley Blvd, Altoona, PA 16602. Bid Opening Date will be on October 20, 2008 at 10:00 A.M., Bldg. #2, Room #106 at the VAMC, Altoona, PA. NAICS Code is 238220 (Plumbing, Heating, and Air-Conditioning Contractors), size standard is $14.0 million. Cost range is between $250,000.00 and $500,000. THIS IS A TOTAL 100 % SERVICE DISABLED VETERAN OWNED SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE.
