Description
The Great Lakes Acquisition Center (GLAC) intends to negotiate a sole source contract with SuperDimension, Inc of Plymouth, MN to purchase and install a superDimension inReach/Bronchus System for the Zablocki VA Medical Center, Milwaukee, WI. The system will include, but not be limited to a.) "GPS-like" localization technology in the bronchoscopy field, which allows many peripheral lung lesions to be sampled that would otherwise require thoracotomy for diagnosis, b.) Combine "GPS-like" localization technology, CT scan, virtual endobronchial anatomy, and the ability to plot a route (like a bronchogram) to a peripheral lesion and obtain samples. This process could eliminate false negatives, repeat procedures and in some instances a surgical procedure, and c.) "GPS-like" localization technology using the Location Guide and Extended Working channel (A bronchoscope with at least 2.6mm working channel is a requirement.) can provide a virtual "path to a lesion" within a bronchus. NAICS 423450 - 500 Employees. To the best of our knowledge the superDimension inReach is the only system that offers "GPS-like" localization in the bronchoscopy format. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be accepted. However, any firm that believes it can meet these requirements is requested to submit clear and convincing evidence of their ability to provide these products. Vendors are required to include but not be limited to manufacturer's brochures, system properties and salient characteristics of the product. Written notification must be submitted to the Contracting Officer on or before the response due date of this synopsis - 9/9/08 by 4:00 pm CST. Information can be sent electronically to the Contracting Officer at paula.scott@va.gov or via mail to the Contracting Officer, VAMC-GLAC, Bldg. 5, 5000 W. National Avenue, Milwaukee WI 53295. Responses received will be evaluated however; a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the GLAC will proceed with the sole source negotiation with SuperDimension, Inc.
