- Description
- The Social Security Administration, Chicago Region, plans to negotiate solely with Aerotecture International, Inc., 3025 N. Rockwell Ave., Chicago, IL 60618 for the purchase and installation of four (4) 5,000 watt AeroSolar Hybrid Wind Turbine Systems on the roof of the Harold Washington Social Security Center, 600 W. Madison St., Chicago, IL 60661. The hybrid systems will include solar photovoltaic panels linked to uniquely designed aeroturbines to generate electrical power for the SSA building. This aeroturbine hybrid system is small enough to be placed in an urban setting and is noise and vibration free, safe for birds, able to utilize multidirectional and gusting winds, self-regulating, low maintenance, and made from low cost and readily available materials. The hybrid aeroturbine system must be compatible with existing building codes for the city of Chicago. Interested parties who feel they can provide similar equipment may respond to this announcement by submitting their capability statement via email to the Contracting Officer at Reggie.Poskocimas@SSA.GOV by 3:00 PM CDT Wednedsay, September 10, 2008. Information provided will be considered solely for determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This notice does not constitute a solicitation for offers. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received by the closing date (09/10/2008), SSA will commence negotiations with Aerotecture International for the purchase and installation of the AeroSolar Hybrid Wind Turbine Systems. Vendors must submit all questions and/or responses to this notice in writing to the email referenced above. Telephone calls regarding this notice will not be accepted. Responses must reference solicitation number SSA-RFQ-05-08-0027.
