- The Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center (MEDVAMC) intends to negotiate and award a FIRM FIXED PRICE sole source contract under the authority FAR 6.302-1 to Fuji Medical System USA, Inc. for the Preventive Maintenance Services to the Fuji Computed Radiography Equipment System located at the MEDVAMC, 2002 Holcombe Boulevard, Houston, Texas. This is unrestricted sole source procurement. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) for this procurement is 811219, and the small business size of $7 million or less applies to this procurement. The resulting contract shall have one base year with 4 one-year options for renewal. The sole source decision is based on the combination of a market survey from the source sought notice and the fact that Fuji Medical System USA, Inc. is the manufacturer of the referenced system and does not have authorized distributor capable of maintaining the referenced system. No response was received from the source sought notice posted by this agency on www.fbo.gov on June 16, 2008 and closed on June 30, 2008. This is not a request for competitive quotation. However, if any responsible source believes it may satisfy the above requirement, it may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency. The statement of capabilities and any other information furnished must be in writing, submitted by the response date posted in this presolicitation, and must contain material in sufficient detail to allow the government to determine if the source can perform this requirement. Sources must be actively registered at CCR at http://www.ccr.gov. All questions, comments, and response must be addressed in writing to Nam-Phuong Nguyen, Contract Specialist, Namphuong.nguyen@va.gov. A determination by the government not to compete this procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Solicitation will not be posted and be issued only on the request basis and after the Government's review and determination of the source's capability statement.
