- Justification for Other than Full and Open CompetitionDepartment of Veterans Affairs Medical Center The Department of Veterans Affairs, VISN 7 Birmingham, AL intends to negotiate a sole source procurement under the authority of FAR 6.302.1, with Volk Optical Inc. to provide lenses to be used in conjunction with their indirect ophthalmoscope and slip lamp which includes the following: (1ea) 30D large clear w/case, (11ea) Volk multi-lens set w/5 lenses, (11ea) 4x6 case BCDE, (11ea) 20D large clear case, (11ea) 28D large clear w/case, (11ea) 78D clear w/case, (11ea) 90D clear w/case, (11ea) G-4 mirror NF large ring w/case, (10ea) Volk multi-lens set w/5 lenses, (10ea) 4x6 case BCDE, (10ea) 20D large clear case, (10ea) 28D large clear w/case, (10ea) 78D clear w/case, (10ea) 90D clear w/case, (10ea) G-4 goniolaser flange w/case. This notice of intent is not a REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. Interested parties may identify their experience in providing this equipment to the Contracting Officer via e-mail or fax 478-274-5866. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
