Description
03 September 2008 From: Military Sealift Command To: Tanker Industry Subject:JOINT MSC/DESC/INDUSTRY MEETING DATE CHANGE Military Sealift Command (MSC), in coordination with the Defense Energy Support Center (DESC), is considering the implementation of periodic joint meetings with tanker industry representatives regarding bulk fuel transportation requirements forecasting. The first meeting is now planned for 29 September 2008 at the Washington Navy Yard. The meeting will convene from 1300-1500 hours and will tentatively be held in the Tower Conference Room, Building 157, to be confirmed with attendees prior to the meeting. The following topics, among others, will be discussed: •Details related to specific lift requirements that are releasable •Lead time for releasing requirements prior to required laydays and impact therein on the ability of tanker operators to offer and provide prior cargo certificates •General historic geographic regional trends •Periodicity/forum for future meetings We would also like to add any topics industry feels would be appropriate for discussion. To that end, please provide your intent to attend the first meeting, along with your full contact information (full name, title, company name, phone number and email address) along with any input you feel appropriate in preparation for the meeting. For ease of base access, this information is requested to be provided not later than 1600 hours on 18 September 2008; re-confirmations are requested.
