- NASA/GSFC has a requirement for the acquisition of the Solar Terrestrial RelationsObservatory (STEREO) book. NASA/GSFC intends to purchase the items from The Springer Science and Business Media, LLCpursuant to the FAR 13.106, for the acquisition of supplies or services determined to bereasonably available from only one source. Springer Science and Business Media, LLC isthe only publisher who has the copy right for the articles that are to be used to createthe STEREO book. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local timeon the date specified above. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solelyfor the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on acompetitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed efforton a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solelywithin the discretion of the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.An Ombudsman has been appointed.
