- The Department of Veterans Affairs Audie L. Murphy Memorial Hospital, San Antonio, TX, VISN 17, intends to negotiate a sole-source contract with Synthes USA, for the acquisition of various implant devices including Cannulated Bone Screws, Cannulated Screws, Threaded Orthopedic wires, and Bone Forcep Sets. This procurement is a brand name only requirement per part 13.106-1 (b)(1) of the Federal Acquisition Regulations and in accordance OFPP Policy Letter dated April 17, 2006, Subject: Publication of Brand Name Justifications. NAICS code 339113. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. It is not a solicitation or request for offers. No solicitation package is available. A determination not to compete is solely within the discretion of the Government. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. If no valid responses are received, the South Texas Veterans Health Care System will proceed with the intended sole source contract. Responses must be received no later than 12:00 P.M.
