- Naval Facilities Engineering Command Washington is seeking eligible firms capable of performing janitorial services in a full service Joint Commission accredited acute care medical treatment facility having a capacity of 250 beds or greater. The intention of this requirement is to award a combination Firm-Fixed Price, Indefinite Quantity contract. The estimated value of this acquisition for the base period with all options is $75,000,000.00. The period of performance will be ten years, the base year plus four option years and five award-option years. The North American Classification System (NAICS) Code for this procurement is 561210, size standard $32.5 million. THIS SYNOPSIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. It is a market research tool being used to determine the availability and adequacy of potential small business sources prior to determining the method of procurement. Based on the results, the Government will decide if this requirement is appropriate to offer as a Small Business Set-Aside. The Government is not obligated to and will not pay for any information received from potential sources as a result of this synopsis. The location of service is the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (Bethesda, MD). The successful Contractor, to any forthcoming solicitation, shall provide all labor, supervision, management, supplies, equipment, transportation and any other items necessary to perform Medical Treatment Facility Housekeeping Services. Specific duties include, but are not limited to, cleaning critical and non-critical patient care rooms, operating rooms, intensive care units (ICU), neonatal intensive care units (NICU), examination rooms, clinics, laboratories, common areas, administrative and office areas, and responding to unscheduled service requests. The Contractor's housekeeping staff shall have experience and training in infection control procedures and Joint Commission requirements. The Contractor shall be able to provide an Executive Housekeeper with at least ten (10) years of experience as an Executive Housekeeper in a full service hospital certified by the Joint Commission. In addition, there are currently several new buildings being constructed at the Medical Center. These will be added to the contract as they are completed significantly increasing the overall square footage. This is expected to occur sometime in 2011. The contractor shall have the capability to perform services in these new buildings when they are incorporated into the contract.
