Description
Notice of Intent: Due to lack of other known sources, Geberal Services Administration (GSA) intends to award a sole source purchase order to National Fire Protection Association for the following NFPA training. National fire alarm code training and training for inspection, testing and maintenance of fire alarm systems. Provide training regarding planning, design, installation and use of fire alarm systems. Also, provide training regarding inspection testing and maintenance of fire alarm systems. All training shall be conducted in accordance with the most recent edition of NFPA 72. Training class content shall include: explain basic fire behavior; discuss different building codes as related to NFPA codes and standards; identify and discuss fire alarm system components; identify and discuss different types of fire alarm systems and proper application; identify and discuss each type of fire detector and proper application; discuss how fire alarm systems interface with other building systems; discuss fire alarm system inspection methods and frequencies; discuss fire alarm system test methods and frequencies; discuss and identify the key elements of a successful fire alarm system inspection, testing and maintenance program. Classes are to be provided in the following cities in GSA Region 5: Chicago, IL; Fort Snelling, MN; Cleveland, OH; Cincinnati, OH; Milwaukee, WI; Springfield, IL; Indianapolis, IN; Detroit, MI. Two classes are to be provided in Chicago, IL, and one class in each other city. Submit pricing for a four-day class in each city. Pricing shall be on a per-student basis for 25 students per class. Classes may overlap and the offeror shall be prepared to offer training in more than one location on the same dates. Class times are 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. local time. Offeror will provide a mailing address for mailing class evaluations at the end of the training session. Training to be provided in October, November and December 2008.
