Description
The following are answers to questions received: Question 1) The bolt hole circles pattern is different with our cryostat. Is this acceptable to BID? Answer 1) We have specified bolt patterns for the top plate and for the mounting plate, both of which must be adhered to. Question 2) NIST requirements in particular the length and the top plate free area. Is it possible to have a longer cryostat and wider above the tail and if so is there a limit? Is this acceptable to BID? Answer 2) The specification on the upper diameter limit is required as well as the limit on overall height 720 mm and 950 mm respectively. Question 3) The system would have to operate in persistent mode to ensure re- condensing. Is this acceptable to BID? Answer 3) We have requested cryo-free with no persistent mode. We have allowed systems with minimal condensed volume of He-4 to bid but we prefer all cryo-free (just closed cycle fridge). Question 4) Bore 82 mm in magnet, 152 mm above. Is this acceptable to BID? Answer 4) Yes those specifications 82 mm and 152 mm for the warm bore (inside wall diameter) exceed our minimum specification. Question 5) In the event of a power outage or refrigerator failure the helium autonomy will allow uninterrupted operation for several hours or allow for controlled run down. Is this acceptable to BID? Answer 5) Yes, acceptable. The due date and time for quotations remains the same.
