- Description
- The United States Geological Survey, Western Region, intends to award a noncompetitive acquisition to Carl Zeiss SMT Inc (Zeiss) to service and maintain LEO 982 electron microscope located in USGS facilities at Menlo Park, CA. Zeiss is the only known firm with the expertise to maintain such an instrument. Therefore, the Government intends to award this requirement noncompetitively in accordance with FAR Part 13.106-(b)(2) and the procedures of FAR Part 12 entitled, "Acquisition of Commercial Items." Accordingly, any concern that believes they can meet the requirement described above may submit a proposal no later than the closing date of this announcement which will be considered by the USGS. All responses must be in writing, by email to the Contract Specialist at jriccomini@usgs.gov. This is NOT an RFQ. No written solicitation will be issued. This may represent the only written notice of this acquisition.
