- Description
- Synopsis: The Louis Stokes Cleveland Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC), 10000 Brecksville Rd, Brecksville, OH 44141, intends to negotiate a sole source buy from Lucid, Inc, of Rochester, NY for a Vivascope 3000 System, in connection with mission objectives of the Dermatology Department. To the best of our knowledge Lucid, Inc, is the only manufacturer of a system that provides the first handheld reflectance confocal microscope designed specifically for clinical imaging of the skin. The Viva Scope 3000's compact configuration and flexible, handheld positioning makes it easy for the physician to acquire images of skin around the nose and ear. Its primary features include megapixel resolution; real time video rate imaging; and on instrument controls for laser power, imaging depth, imagie capture and VivaStack capture. It also is useful for mapping the margins of a skin lesion prior to and during surgical procedures. The VivaScope 300 utilizes Lucid's patented StableView technology to ensure steady, motion-free images. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirements. The resulting contract will be firm fixed price and the NAICS Code is 621512. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes or proposals. No solicitations documents are available and telephone requests will not be honored. However, if a firm believes it can meet the requirements aforementioned, then firms must furnish detailed information about its products and or services, as well as references from other customers who are using these products and or services. This information must be submitted to the Contracting Officer within (7) calendar days from the date of this synopsis publication. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirement, to include FDA approval/compliance certification. Information must be sent to the Contracting Officer, by e-mail marva.jordan@va.gov or via fax to (440) 838-6052. All responses must be submitted to Marva Jordan, Contract Specialist, due no later than September 2, 2008. Responses received will be evaluated however; a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the VAMC Brecksville will proceed with the sole source negotiation with Lucid, Inc.
