Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 619 S. Marion Ave., Lake City, Florida intends to negotiate a sole source procurement with DePuy Orthopaedics Inc.,700 Orthopaedic Drive, Warsaw, IN 46582-3994. The proposed contract action is for the purchase of the DePuy FRS-SOC Screw System. To the best of the Governments knowledge, the FRS-SOC Screw System manufactured by DePuy Orthpaedics is the only system available with a compression headless screw, which promotes stabilization and healing, and prevents the screw from backing out. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Interested persons may identify their intent and capability to respond to the requirement no later than September 2, 2008, 3:00pm, to be considered. Offerors must provide technical information which provides proof of the capability to meet or exceed the quality of the DePuy FRS-SOC Screw System and accessories. No solicitation will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive bids. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Submissions must be made in writing via fax @ 386-758-3211 or e-mail to susan.little@med.va.gov. No discussions will be held via telephone.
