- Synopsis: The Louis Stokes Cleveland Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC), 10000 Brecksville Rd, Brecksville, OH 44141, intends to negotiate a sole source buy from Atricure, Inc of West Chester, Ohio 45069 for a Transpolar Pen and Ablation Handpiece, in connection with mission objectives of the Cardiology Department. To the best of our knowledge Atricure, Inc, is the only manufacturer of a system that provides a product that is used to both diagnose cardiac arrhythmias and ablate cardiac tissue. The system confirms exit block of focal stimuli from the atrial cuff to the atrium, block atrial cuff potentials through evaluation of baseline waveforms and inactivity of parasympathetic responses associated with intrinsic cardiac nervous system utilizing high frequency stimulation (HFS). This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirements. The resulting contract will be firm fixed price and the NAICS Code is 339112. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes or proposals. No solicitations documents are available and telephone requests will not be honored. However, if a firm believes it can meet the requirements aforementioned, then firms must furnish detailed information about its products and or services, as well as references from other customers who are using these products and or services. This information must be submitted to the Contracting Officer within (7) calendar days from the date of this synopsis publication. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirement, to include FDA approval/compliance certification. Information must be sent to the Contracting Officer, by e-mail marva.jordan@va.gov or via fax to (440) 838-6052. All responses must be submitted to Marva Jordan, Contract Specialist, due no later than September 2, 2008. Responses received will be evaluated however; a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the VAMC Brecksville will proceed with the sole source negotiation with Atricure, Inc.
