- Fleet & Industrial Supply Center Norfolk, Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY) Maritime Industrial Division in Portsmouth, VA hereby gives notice of intent to award a sole source requirement to Carter Machinery Co, Inc., Chesapeake, VA 23323 under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(iii)(B), Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. The requirement is to overhaul government owned Caterpillar 3508 diesel engine generator set to like new condition. All parts are to be OEM parts. Engine overhaul technicians are to be Caterpillar 3500 factory trained. Engine is to be dynamometer tested per manufacturers requirements upon completion of the overhaul. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETIVE QUOTES. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No solicitation document is available. Interested firms shall submit information that indicates their ability to satisfy this requirement. Responses are due by 12:00 PM (Noon), 29 August 2008, via facsimile or email.
