- NGA intends to contract by other than full and open competition in accordance with one of the exceptions allowed under the Competition in Contracting Act (CICA) of 1984. In accordance with 10 U.S.C.2304(c)(1) as implemented by FAR6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This announcement publicizes the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency’s intent to award a sole source contract to DeLorme Publishing Company, Inc. NGA has a requirement for worldwide global geospatial intelligence data. The dataset required is of a global scale (1:400 kilometer to 1:500 kilometer), has +/- 50 meter horizontal positional accuracy, currency of at least (10) ten years, and features to include roads, rivers (linear), railroads, place names, urban areas, shoreline and water bodies, contours, and land use/land cover. The Government plans to issue a Request for Proposal on approximately August 29, 2008. The estimated contract award date is September 15, 2008. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Any vendors that feel that they can meet the requirements of NGA outlined above should email the Contract Specialist at scott.j.hardin@nga.mil NLT 5:00pm Central Time August 27, 2008.
