- Description
- The Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) has a requirement for highly specialized support of applied research and development programs. The support includes system engineering and applications-oriented activities to preserve and enhance a strong aerospace systems technology base and to provide expert capabilities in the development, acquisition and operation of aerospace systems. Support shall be provided for mechanical, structural, aerodynamic, thermal, propulsive, electronic, optical, and robotic development; the acquisition of related advanced hardware, components, and software development; along with integration and test of advanced systems on designated terrestrial, space, and launch systems. The contractor shall also provide technical support for concept and feasibility studies; requirements definition; subsystem design, payload development; and on-orbit operation of space systems; technology transition; program planning and control; along with the security support and information technology functions necessary to carry out ongoing and planned programs. This is a follow-on requirement to work being done under contract N00173-03-C-2000 with Praxis, Inc, Alexandria, VA. The Government anticipates award of a Cost-Plus-Fixed-Fee type contract. The anticipated period of performance will be one (1) year with four (4) one-year options. The contractor shall have a TOP SECRET facilities clearance, TOP SECRET safeguarding capabilities and personnel available with DoD granted personnel security clearances commensurate with the level of access required for the performance of the contract. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is 541712. This solicitation is 100% small business set aside. The primary place of performance will be at the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington D.C. The NRL uses Electronic Commerce (EC) to issue RFPs and amendments to RFPs. Papers copies of the RFP will not be provided. This is not a solicitation. The actual closing date for receipt of proposals will be stated in the solicitation when issued. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency.
