Description
Construction Services for Project # 630-407 Description: This notice is for project, "OR Renovation," at the VA Medical Center, Brooklyn Campus, 800 poly Place, Brooklyn NY 11209. This shall be a Service Disabled Small Business Set-Aside (SDVOSB). As a result, all SDVOSB's may submit a bid, which shall be considered by the agency. The project falls under NAICS Code 236220, and has a Small Business Standard of 13 Million. The estimated price range for this project is $5,000,000 to $10,000,000, respectively. The work for this requirement consists of, but is not limited to: Contractor shall furnish all materials, equipment, labor, supervision, and personnel to accomplish this project. Provide all necessary labor, equipments and materials to renovate OR suite at the 4th floor of Building 1 at New York Harbor Healthcare System-Brooklyn Campus. Work includes, but is not limited to, total gut rehab of existing 4th floor North West (approx. 10,000 SF) to accommodate the new OR suite. Work also includes renovation of the 4th floor South East to accommodate as swing unit for OR administration offices and temporary male locker room and OR storage rooms. Work includes, but is not limited to, installation of new AHU, heating system, and ventilation system. Work includes upgrade of existing electrical, lighting, plumbing, data and security system for the new OR suite. Work also includes new architectural finishes and asbestos removal of pipe insulations and any asbestos contaminated materials as shown on contract drawings and specifications. Work also includes, but is not limited to, renovation of area to accommodate support auxiliary areas, such as Storage Rooms, Holding Area, PACU (Recovery), Locker Rooms and other areas, as indicated in the contract drawings and specifications. Work involves infrastructure and utilities (medical gases, electrical) work for new OR Boom equipment. Provide custom millwork caseworks, scrub sinks, metro wired shelves on casters, lockers, etc. as specified on the contract drawings and specifications. Work involves multiple construction phasing. Contractor is not allowed to proceed with next phase of construction until previous phasing is completed and occupied. There is a deduct alternate with the following scope of work, From the Base Bid deduct the construction of the locker rooms and PACU(Recovery)Area. To minimize the daily operation of medical center, certain mechanical and plumbing work will have to be done after hours and weekends only. All work is in accordance with contract drawings and specifications. Other details/information is in the solicitation which shall be posted on www.fedbizopps.gov The anticipated release date of the IFB is August 22, 2008 and the anticipated closing date is September 22, 2008. The bid submittal address and time is included in the solicitation. This project requires bonding and bid submissions that shall be in hardcopies and not e-mailed or faxed. All bidders shall be registered and verified in the www.ccr.gov and www.vetbiz.gov and www.orca.bpn.gov Completion time is (from notice to proceed) 520 calendar days for the base bid, 460 Calendar Days for Bid Alternate I.
