- THIS PROJECT IS OPEN TO BOTH LARGE AND SMALL BUSINESS PURSUANT TO THE SMALL BUSINESS COMPETITIVENESS DEMONSTRATION PROGRAM This project includes the following: A. Base Item: Provide all labor, materials and equipment required to furnish a 2,400 square foot clear span, pre-engineered, rigid metal frame building with 16' eave height, 1:12 roof slope, three 14 feet by 14 feet steel overhead doors with openers, gutter and down spouts. This will be FOB Destination. B. Option One: Base Item PLUS provide all labor, materials and equipment required to construct the foundation, per the foundation plans provided in the base item (to include mobilization/demobilization and any required bonding). C. Option One: Base Item PLUS Option 1 PLUS provide all labor, materials and equipment required to erect the building provided, per the building plans provided in the base item (to include mobilization/demobilization and any required bonding). The site of the work is at Fort Niobrara National Wildlife Refuge, located approximately 5 miles east of Valentine, Nebraska in Cherry County. b. Prospective offerors may inspect the site by making arrangements with the Project Leader, Fort Niobrara National Wildlife Refuge, at telephone number (402) 376-3789. c. Contractors are urged to visit the work sites and become familiar with existing conditions and equipment. Failure to ascertain the nature, location, and conditions which affect the work will not relieve the Contractor from the responsibility for successfully performing the work without additional expense to the Government. Prospective bidders are encouraged to visit the work area in order to examine the existing site conditions by making arrangements with the Project Leader, Fort Niobrara NWR, HC 14, Box 67, Valentine, NE 69201, telephone number (402) 376-3789. Failure of the Contractor to ascertain the nature, location, and conditions which affect the work will not relieve him from the responsibility for successfully performing the work without additional expense to the Government. GENERAL INFORMATION The estimated magnitude of construction is between $25,000.00 and $100,000.00. The total performance is 60 days from Notice to Proceed. This project is open to both large and small businesses. The NAICS code is 236220, Commercial and Institutional Building Construction, and the size standard is $31 Million. The solicitation package is anticipated to be available electronically on/or about August 22, 2008 with an anticipated closing date of September 11, 2008.
