- National Institute on Drug Abuse, Office of Acquisitions- Neurosciences, Station Support/Simplified Acquisition, on behalf of the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) intends to negotiate on FAR 13 basis and award a purchase order on a noncompetitive basis to Carl Zeiss Microimaging, Inc., One Zeiss Drive, Thornwood, NY 10594. This is a notice of intent and not a request for a proposal. A solicitation document will not be issued and proposals will not be requested. The Government is in the process of purchasing a Microscope from the GSA contract held by Carl Zeiss. There are several pieces that are not available under the GSA schedule. The pieces are required by the Government in order for the microscope to function and be covered by warranty. Therefore based on the aforementioned facts, only one responsible source and no other supplies or service will satisfy agency requirement FAR 6.302-1. The contractor shall supply the following: Transmitted Light Motor-Imager, Eyepiece PI 10x/25 Br foc, Mechanical Stage 75x50 motor, Electronic Coaxial Drive, FL filter Set 38 HE GFP shift free, FL Filter Set 43 HE Cy3 shift free,AV Upgrade 1/2/3 to AV4.7, AV4 Mod ModaiX, Apotome with scope imager, Apo Tome Grid M for Imager, Apo Tome Grid L for Imager, AV4 Mod. Apotome, AVE Mopd. Z-Stack, AV4 Mod Inside 4D, View Sonic 22" Widescreen LCD Monitor. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this synopsis. The government intends to select the offer that represents the best value to the Government, price and all other factors considered. The determination by the Government not to proposed contract based upon response to referencing synopsis number NOI677551 may be submitted electronically to the NIDA, Station Support/Simplified Acquisition Branch 31 Center Drive, Bldg. 31 Room 1B59, Bethesda, MD 20892-2080, and Attention: Kathleen Gregory, Contracting Officer.
