- Description
- The Social Security Administration intends to issue a firm-fixed priced purchase order to A.D.A.M, Inc., located in Atlanta, GA for online access to electronic subscription entitled, Health Illustrated Encyclopedia. This is a renewal. The subscription includes online access to search and download documents and illustrations including: 1,600 diseases & conditions, injuries, symptoms, surgeries, and tests in 3,600 articles; Over 2,000 full-color images; Thousands of cross-referenced hyperlinks to more information and available in Spanish. Period of Performance is for a one-year period, beginning October 1, 2008 through September 30, 2009. Under FAR Part 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Sources Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. This requirement is utilizing procedures in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12 - Acquisition of Commercial Items using procedures in conjunction FAR Part 13. This is not a request for quotations or an announcement of a forthcoming solicitation, but merely notification of the Government's intent to order this subscription from A.D.A.M, Inc. Requests for copies of a solicitation in response will not be honored or acknowledged. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered for the purposes of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The Government does not intend to pay for information provided in response to this publication. Written responses to this synopsis shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bona fide capability to fulfill this requirement. If no affirmative, responses are received within 3 business days, in accordance with FAR 13.106-1, (b)(1) negotiations will be conducted with A.D.A.M, Inc. as the only source. A purchase order will be issued without any additional notices being posted. Respondents should refer to 0919-08-1224.
