- The Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory (SAO) requires Custodial Services at it’s Fred Lawrence Whipple Observatory (FLWO) site at Mount Hopkins in Amado, Arizona. This is a Request for Offers to provide custodial services for one (1) year plus options for four (4) additional years. Offers are to be prepared in accordance with the attached Instructions. THIS PROCUREMENT IS 100% SET-ASIDE FOR SMALL BUSINESS CONCERNS A site visit is planned for 4 September 08, at 12:00 Noon MST. All Contractors are urged to attend. Questions, regarding the Site Visit maybe directed to the Contracting Officer’s Technical Representative (COTR) Karen Myres at 520-670-5703 or email: kmyres@cfa.harvard.edu The firm date for receipt of offers is 12 September 2008 at 5:15 PM (EDT). The anticipated award date is on or about 19 September 2008. The anticipated start date is October 1, 2008. The North American Industry Classification (NAICS) code and size standard are 561720 and $15M, respectively. All qualified responsible sources may submit an offer, which will be considered by the SAO. This procurement is being conducted using the methods described in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6, Streamlined Procedures for Evaluation and Solicitation for Commercial Items. Oral explanations or instructions given before the award of a contract will not be binding. Any information given to a prospective Offeror concerning a solicitation will be furnished to all prospective Offerors as an amendment of the solicitation, if such information is necessary to Offerors in submitting offers or if lack of such information would be prejudicial to uninformed Offerors. Questions SAO may have otherwise answered may not be answered if submitted too late to permit transmittal to all potential Offerors reasonably in advance of the due date.
