- Description
- The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to procure on a sole source basis and under the authority of FAR 6.302-2(a)(2), with Lancaster Services, Inc., Oak Ridge, TN 37830, health physics support services for the plutonium spill at the NIST Boulder, Colorado facility using simplified acquisition procedures as it has a continuing need. The unusual circumstance for the services needed, the urgent and compelling nature of this requirement, and the continuing need for these services stipulates that this type of sole source procurement be used. As a result of this procurement, the Contractor will continue providing these services. Therefore, due to the urgency of this requirement’s deliverable, it is determined that there is only one company that has the capability to provide the required services. No other company has the proprietary knowledge and capability to provide these services within the required deadline. A solicitation package will not be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations.
