Description
The proposed modification to contract ACB-3-C-0002 is to extend the Asset Protection Security Services (5502 Burnham Drive Corpus Christi, TX 78413) detention services contract for the Batavia Service Processing Center for six months ending March 31, 2009. The Batavia Service Processing Center’s contract will expire on September 30, 2008. This extension is required to extend the contract from October 1, 2008 to March 31, 2009 to allow for completion of the ongoing 8(a) set-aside competition for follow-on services. Asset Protection is the only firm capable of providing these services by the required date of October 1, 2008 because they currently have the required cleared and trained staff in place under the current contract. In order to provide the current required level of service, other parties would need to have 165 detention guards, sufficient buses and staff to protect, transport and feed a daily population of up to 800 detainees. These capabilities would be required on October 1, 2008 with appropriate security clearances and training for all personnel. The follow-on contract for these services was solicited as a competitive 8(a) set-aside. Proposals are currently under evaluation and award is expected no later than January 31, 2008 in order to provide 60 days for transition and mobilization.
