- The US Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA), Fort Detrick, MD, proposes to award to the Institute of Medicine (IOM) of The National Academies, 500 Fifth Street NW, Washington, D.C. 20001, on a sole source basis, a contract to conduct a Forum on Microbial Threats. Competing this requirement and awarding to any other business entity would result in substantial delays and disruption that could have National Security implications. In addition, it would increase the overall cost to the government. This procurement shall be under other than full and open competition procedures in accordance with FAR 6.302. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency. All contractors wishing to do business with the Department of Defense must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database. CCR registration can be accomplished at the following website: www.ccr.gov. If no written responses are received within fifteen (15) days of the publication of this solicitation, the purchase will be awarded without further notice.
