Description
This notice is issued solely for informational and planning purposes and does not constitute a solicitation. The U.S. Army Sustainment Command (ASC) intends to competitively solicit and award a contract for Stevedoring and Related Terminal Services (S&RTS) at the Port of Messaieed (Umm Said), Qatar. This contract will include S&RTS in connection with the receipt, disposition, processing, and loading/discharging of vessels at the port of Messaieed (Umm Said), Qatar. The S&RTS are needed to allow for critical cargo movement through strategic sea ports of debarkation. This cargo includes critical supplies and unit equipment vital to supporting Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marine operations throughout the CENTCOM to include Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) an Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF). The ASC will host an Industry Day on 08 October 2008 to expand our market research and to provide information regarding the planned S&RTS acquisition. The conference will be held at the Doha Marriott Hotel, Ras Abu Aboud Street, Doha, Qatar. This Industry Day will allow interested sources the opportunity to ask questions and provide comments regarding the requirements development. In addition, the Government will use this Industry Day as a means of gauging the availability of qualified commercial sources. The Government will discuss any risks and the general source selection criteria anticipated. The conference will begin at 09:00 and end at approximately 16:00. Sign in and registration will start at 08:00. Advance registration is required. Parties interested in attending this Industry Day shall submit a reservation request via email to Ms. Mitzi Wagner at mitzi.wagner@us.army.mil and Mr. Jon Martel at jon.p.martel@us.army.mil. Your request shall include the name of the firm - name and title of those individuals participating - telephone numbers and email addresses. All reservations for this event must be received no later than 29 September 2008. This reservation request is only for attendance to the Industry Day. Vendors are responsible for securing their own hotel accommodations, if needed. Please note that industry participation is voluntary and the Government will not reimburse respondents or attendees for any efforts expended as a result of or in response to this notice.
