- Description
- The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) intends to negotiate on an other than full and open competitive basis with LexisNexis for maintenance of CaseSoft software licenses. Casesoft software is used by SEC Enforcement staff to manage and analyze increasing amounts of critical case data for its investigations and litigations. LexisNexis is the only source that has been identified as capable of satisfying the SEC’s requirement. Due to licensing, warranty, and compatibility issues, it is not possible for another source to meet the SEC’s requirement. The statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition is 41 U.S.C. 253 (c) (1), implemented by FAR 6.302-1(a) (2) – Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The SEC intends to award a purchase order to LexisNexis on or about September 1, 2008. This notice is not a competitive request for proposals. A competitive solicitation will not be issued and no further information will be provided. However, the government will give consideration to interested parties that identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals by the response date of this notice.
