- Requisition Number: FDA1047487 The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) intends to award a purchase order on a non-competitive sole source basis to the University of Maryland, Baltimore, Baltimore, MD 21201. FDA will obtain an analysis of the whole genome sequences of the food pathogens Salmonella enterica St Paul Sara 23 and S. enterica St Paul Sara 29: Description: 1. Auto-annotation of two Salmonella Stain Paul whole genome sequences. SNP discovery and comparison among strains. Gene content comparison among strains. Other genomic comparisons. 2. University of Maryland currently possesses the raw sequence data and is prepared for further analysis. 3. University staff has experience in annotating and analyzing genomes, especially the entire data set. The staff is also uniquely qualified to analyze the sequence data because of their experience at the Institute for Genomic Sequences (TIGR) in bacterial sequence analysis. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTES. However, sources may submit descriptive literature, fully documenting their capabilities, which will be considered by the Agency. A determination to compete this procurement based on response(s) to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. All inquiries must be received by 10:00 AM (1000) EST on 28 August 2008 to the attention of David Kordel, david.kordel@fda.hhs.gov. The FDA intends to make a firm fixed price award immediately after the response date of this notice. The purchase order will be made in accordance with FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures.
