- The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to award a purchase order to Perkin Elmer, 710 Bridgeport Avenue, Shelton, CT 06484-4794. The authority for this sole source is FAR Part 6.302-1 and FAR Part 13.106-1. Purchase of a complete autosampler system for Perkin Elmer ELAN ICPMS - 1 each Bayonet mount, and Cassette Mount. Quartz Cyclonic Spray Chamber, PVDF Coupler with 7 mm baffle and 12/5 socket connection. Injector for Perkin Elmer Elan, Bayonet mount, sapphire in PFA Base, 1.8 mm, 12/5 ball joint. Injector for Perkin Elmer Elan Cassette mount, sapphire in PFA Base, 1.8 mm, 12/5 ball joint. Justification for other than full and open competition: Perkin Elmer is the only company that has service staff trained by Elemental Scientifc, Inc., In addition, staff are trained by Perkin Elmer for connecting accessories to Elan ICP-DRC-MS instrumentation. Other service organizations are not trained on connecting and trouble shooting accessories which work with their ICP-DRC-MS laboratory equipment. This is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation is available. Firms that believe they can provide the laboratory equipment are encouraged to identify themselves and give written notice to the Contract Specialist within 5 dys of the publication date of this synopsis. A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed action will be based on responses to this notice and is solely within the discretion of the U.S. Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determinig whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
